I am excited to share that Number 9 on my list can be marked off!! I have had so much fun and am happy with my final product. I hope that I can keep practicing to improve my detail work and improve the depth in my paintings. As always, Youtube videos were a great help with easy how to's and demonstrations for things that I was not quite comfortable with. Here are my paintings:
Practice Paintings:
I started yesterday on the smaller canvas (8" x 10" canvas). I used Acrylic paint and painted over the Black Gesso that I needed to paint over another bad painting. I mainly used a spotter for the detail, a sponge for the heavier paint, and a flat wash for the blending.
Final Product:
And this morning, I started on the larger canvas (12" x 15" canvas). For this one, I used oil paint and sponged on most of the color. I used a ridge and flat wash for most of it, but then used a fan blender for the grass and detail. I also used a sponge for the leaves in the trees. I am not sure if I am done with this one yet. The detail could use some work and since oil takes days to dry, I have some time.
Final Product:

WOW... AMAZING!!! Very impressive work. And to think you painted your very first practice painting on paper less than a couple of months ago. A hidden talent for sure. Maybe if paint enough of these we can start selling them for a pretty buck.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job Laura!! You've accomplished so much already. Now can you paint my house?
